March/April Newsletter 2025

Happy First Anniversary to The Stewville Scoop! We started this monthly newsletter last April. Can you believe? We've been bringing you monthly recaps and announcements, and have had a blast delivering you fun facts, trivia questions, and Stewpendous recipes. Thank you for joining us on this newsletter adventure!

A Look Back at the World of Stewpendous Trivia in March:

They say March enters like a lion and goes out like a lamb…

…but I must have been more like a cheetah because the month was over before I could recognize the animal! March was filled with fantastic opportunities to celebrate HERstory during Women’s History Month, including a show with the Women’s Voters League Wilmette Chapter. We also celebrated love by creating a customized trivia show for a wedding in the burbs. We. Love. Love!

The third month of the year also brought us exciting new growth opportunities! We debuted new shows in new neighborhoods and even had our highest trivia show, which took place on the 29th floor! Sidetrack always has fun trivia themes. We celebrated the legacy of Disney Channel Originals and returned to the World of Pokemon. At Replay Andersonville, we sang and danced to the music of our favorite Divas, and to the theme of the Golden Girls at our GG-themed show.  March was truly one to write home about. Keep coming back to the calendar on our website; with all our new shows happening, I’m sure there is one near you!

Our Private Events and Weddings are always a blast!

FUN FACT OF THE MONTH!

Lemons float in water, but limes sink! Try it for yourself and see if it’s true!

Sparkle Squad Spotlights!

This month we are shining the spotlight on Josh Zagoren, a man of many talents. Josh Zagoren is from Iowa, was schooled in Boston, and has been a writer/actor in Chicago since 2006. He has been a host with us for several years and his delivery and his one-of-a-kind take on our trivia shows is unmatched.  One of his most popular projects is his alter ego, Chad the Bird. The character has become a sensation on TikTok and can be seen performed live around the city of Chicago. Check out his website, chadthebird.com to see upcoming scheduled shows.  If that’s not enough, he can also be seen in the popular shows Paper Matechte and Write Club!!

Trivia Time!

In the 1942 Disney movie Bambi, one of the songs in the film is “Little April Showers”. In their lyrics, they sing “Gay little roundelay”. What is a roundelay?

Our Stewpendous Recipe!

Stewpendous Productions firmly believes that trivia is always better when snacks are involved. We want to take the opportunity to celebrate our love of Pop Culture with whacky concepts on snacks and cocktails. Nostalgia is a key pillar of our quizzical philosophy! Every month, we’ll give you a fun, nostalgic recipe that will awaken your memories!

There are so many movies that are celebrating major milestone anniversaries this year and we will be highlighting some of our favorites in the months ahead. If you have a favorite movie that is turning a big number, let us know and we will feature it in our next newsletter!

DO RE MI-APRIL!

This month we are highlighting the iconic musical, The Sound of Music. The beloved movie came out 6o years ago on March 2nd, 1965. This movie is one of my all-time favorites and since moving to Chicago, it has become my Thanksgiving tradition to attend the sing-along at the Music Box Theatre. This is truly the most magical evening of singing, audience participation, costumes, and all the emotions that come with watching the Von Trapp Family.

We all learned our DO RE MIs thanks to Maria, so what better way to celebrate than watching the movie sipping some of your favorite TEA while eating some Jam and shortBREAD cookies!
