December 25/January 26 Newsletter

A Look Back at the World of Stewpendous Trivia in December:

Happy New Year! But first...

December was the merriest and the busiest, but we loved every second of it!! Over the course of the 31 days of holidays, we delivered quizzical good times across Chicagoland from office break rooms to people's living rooms and a whole bunch of bars in between. We even took our trivia onto a trolley! I feel particularly grateful that I get to be a part of so many people’s holiday memories throughout the season. We could not have got through the month without The Stewpendous Sparkle Squad.  They were truly sensational, stepping up to ensure every show had a host and went on as planned without missing a beat. I’m so lucky to work with such a team of dynamos!

FUN FACT OF THE MONTH!

The Pacific island nation of Kiribati, specifically the Kiritimati (Christmas Island) atoll, is the first country to celebrate the New Year, followed closely by Samoa and Tonga.

Because they are located just west of the International Date Line, placing them furthest east in time zones.

Upcoming Stewpendous Chicago Trivia in January!

January is typically considered to be a bleak month after the magic and glow of the holidays, but not here at Stewpendous Productions! We are determined to keep that Fun Train rolling straight on through the cold start to 2026 and bring you nights of laughter and fun with your friends. We have shows throughout the week, so be sure to check out our monthly calendar. And if you have any special requests for trivia topics, don’t hesitate to reach out and share. Let's see what this month can bring us!

All the details and more of what is to come can be found here:

Sparkle Squad Spotlights!

To close out 2025, we want to give a shout-out to Patty McAvoy. We have been friends and creative collaborators for over twenty years! Patty Mac was there at the very beginning of Stewpendous Productions and is the one responsible for designing our logo, the little cartoon Stew face, the logo for this very newsletter, and so much more!

We have grown together in our own businesses, and I can say with confidence that my company wouldn’t have gotten off the ground without her help in those early days.

She has recently returned to Columbus, Ohio. And I believe the theatre scene of Ohio is better off for it. She is a dynamic performer with a voice that would soothe the angriest of gods. So if you’re ever in Ohio, be sure to check out the local theatre listings and don’t miss a chance to see her on stage.

Trivia Time!

In the beginning, there was no January or February, just a winter gap of time before the year began in March. Why did the Roman calendar decide to add the new months, including January (named for the god Janus of new beginnings)?

Our Stewpendous Recipe!

Stewpendous Productions firmly believes that trivia is always better when snacks are involved. We want to take the opportunity to celebrate our love of Pop Culture with wacky concepts on snacks and cocktails. Nostalgia is a key pillar of our quizzical philosophy! Every month, we’ll give you a fun, nostalgic recipe that will awaken your memories!
