A Look Back at the World of Stewpendous Trivia in November:

We're Truly Grateful for all of you who come to our Trivia, Bingo, and Lotería Shows

November, you lived up to your holiday and truly gave me so much to be thankful for!!

The eleventh month of the year kicked off in such a big way that we never looked back. Our very first week, I had the opportunity to work with some truly dynamic women. I brought my quizzical good times to the annual gathering of their organization, W.I.S.E., putting the fun into the function to celebrate the enormous impact women have had in shaping society and our lives. The very next night, I helped two of the sweetest sisters this side of the Mississippi put together their “Best Vest in the Midwest” party. Did we have a Vogue Runway Show Vest-Off? Oh, you know we did!!

The Best Vest in the Midwest Theme Party!

I love organizing social gatherings and designing games and activities that help friends connect and unwind. It's one of my favorite things to do.

I’m also thankful that this wild job of mine allows me to step out and see so many different parts of the city. We went out to the postcard town of Libertyville for a lunch show. And just before the holiday approached, we squeezed in a school fundraiser that was nothing short of epic and a customized birthday show celebrating the big 50!

This is in addition to the extra fun we had during our weekly shows with our incredible Stewpendous Community of trivia players at the best spots in Chicago.

Your continued support and your investment of time to be a part of our trivia, music bingo, and lotería shows are what I’m probably most grateful for this holiday season.

FUN FACT OF THE MONTH!

Let’s kick off December with this lil knowledge nugget:

December is packed with holidays, major events, and the winter solstice. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and New Year's Eve are just the tip of the festive iceberg. In all, there are 12 Holidays to celebrate in December!

Christmas Card Day is celebrated annually on December 9th, marking the creation of the first commercial Christmas card in 1843 by Sir Henry Cole in England. It was to promote the postal service, encouraging people to send handwritten holiday cheer.

Do you send out Holiday cards?

Sparkle Squad Spotlights!

For this Sparkle Squad Spotlight, I want to pull back the curtain, give you a peek behind the scenes, and introduce you to the incredibly talented Leslie Nesbit.

So much of the quizzical good times you experience are made possible and certainly made better because of her talents.  It is no exaggeration that I wouldn’t be able to do 96.5 percent of what we do every week without her work behind the scenes.

She creates our weekly bingo sheets, our incredible visuals and Insta posts, oh, and this very newsletter you are reading right now. So I can’t think of a more deserving person to receive the Sparkle Squad Spotlight to close out the year than Leslie Nesbit.

And if you ever find yourself in Albuquerque, be sure to check out her comedy shows because, in addition to her creative design talents, she is one of the biggest stage talents New Mexico has seen since ABQ’s own Neil Patrick Harris performed his 5th-grade Christmas Pageant.

Our Stewpendous Recipe!

Stewpendous Productions firmly believes that trivia is always better when snacks are involved. We want to take the opportunity to celebrate our love of Pop Culture with wacky concepts on snacks and cocktails. Nostalgia is a key pillar of our quizzical philosophy! Every month, we’ll give you a fun, nostalgic recipe that will awaken your memories!

Judy The Elf's Hot Chocolate

If you lived through the 90s, then chances are you have always wanted to try Judy the Elf’s Hot Chocolate recipe, which took her 1200 years to get right. I don’t have that kind of time to wait, and I’m sure you don’t either. So we scoured the World Wide Web and found a perfect recipe that we really want to try. We just had to share it with you. Thank Claus for Felicia, a food blogger who shared an incredible recipe for her take on Judy’s famous Hot Chocolate from The Santa Clause…

Ingredients:

  • Milk - (Whole Milk if you can)

  • Evaporated Milk - (More Milk)

  • Heavy Cream - (Even More Dairy)

  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (Of course)

  • Hot Fudge Sundae Topping (More Chocolate)

  • Marshmallows - (Whisked into the recipe)

Our favorite part of her blog is when she calls out Judy for telling you to shake your hot cocoa. LOL

She says: WARNING – IMPORTANT – DO NOT SHAKE HOT LIQUIDS! DON’T LISTEN TO THE ELF!

Check out her blog for the full directions and enjoy Judy's Hot Chocolate.

Leslie says, "Please enjoy one for me, because I think all that dairy will literally ruin me."
