A Look Back at the World of Stewpendous Trivia in February:

February of Fun!

The second month of 2026 gave us several opportunities to put the FUN into the FUNdraisers across Chicagoland. We love working with schools, PTAs, and local organizations to create a memorable night of quizzical good times for their greater good.

In true February spirit, we loved the opportunity to celebrate Love with our Rom Com-themed trivia show at Replay Andersonville and a specially arranged Love Fest Music Bingo Show at Punch Bowl Social.

At Sidetrack, we revisited Woodsboro and the 1996 Murders for the 30th anniversary of the iconic horror classic, Scream. We have created an annual show centered on the Ghostface Slasher franchise, and with the latest movie coming out this month, we thought it was a perfect opportunity. Scream Fans always deliver with their Scream t-shirts, tattoos, and most importantly, a passion for their favorite movies. And we're here to celebrate with them!

February also gave us a big first: a trade show!  We partnered with iLandscape for a huge convention for Midwest Landscapers at the Schaumburg Convention Center. We created a special version of trivia inspired by the 80s game shows we loved growing up with. Convention attendees had the opportunity to show their smarts and win big-time prizes. We love the opportunity to take the show we love and adapt it to work in a new and unexpected way.

FUN FACT OF THE MONTH!

Sweet Home Chicago! The city’s birthday was March 4th, marking its official incorporation. This year, Chicago celebrated its 189th birthday! Looks great for its age!

Sparkle Squad Spotlights

This February and March, we had a momentous change at Double Clutch with our beloved Dane Larson. He is stepping down as a full-time host to focus his attention on acting. We are going to miss him dearly on Monday nights and definitely miss that signature Dane Dazzle he delivered every week. He’s still going to be a dynamic Sparkle Squad Sub, so I’m confident this won't be the last time we see him getting quizzical with us.

HOWEVER, the new host is Dane’s appointed heir and his best friend! They go all the way back to their college days in Washington. Dillon King has been a sub for us since he moved to Chicago with his wife for a new life adventure. Dillon is a teacher by day and an absolute delight of a human being. I’m confident that he will continue delivering that Stewpendous fun on Monday nights. If you haven’t been to the show, or it has been a while, this is a perfect opportunity to plan a visit and play trivia with Dillon on

Mondays at 7 pm.

We'll Miss You, Dane!

Trivia Time!

In celebration of Chicago’s birthday...

Fort Dearborn (the first star on our flag) was a United States fort, first built in 1803 beside the Chicago River, in what is now Chicago, Illinois. It was constructed by U.S. troops under Captain John Whistler and named in honor of Henry Dearborn, then United States Secretary of War.

On which corner of Downtown Chicago can you see the plaque indicating its location?

Our Stewpendous Recipe!

Stewpendous Productions firmly believes that trivia is always better with snacks. We want to celebrate our love of Pop Culture with a monthly recipe for a snack or a cocktail.

And The Oscar Goes to...

Hollywood's biggest night is just around the corner, and it's the perfect opportunity to start planning your viewing party!

The Brown Derby has a long Hollywood History and a very special place in my heart.

Well, not the actual Brown Derby. This one!

This was a replica made in Disney MGM Studios! During my days performing on the streets of Hollywood, we would frequently go into The Brown Derby during rainstorms and entertain hungry diners. I filled all my pockets with their delicious warm rolls.

Brown Derby Cocktail

This bright bourbon cocktail proves grapefruit belongs with whiskey. A simple blend of bourbon, fresh grapefruit juice, and honey syrup, the Brown Derby is a classic cocktail with roots in Hollywood's Golden Age.

Ingredients:

recipe found on Food & Wine

  • 1 1/2 ounce bourbon

  • 1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice

  • 1/2 ounce honey syrup

Directions:

  1. Add the bourbon, grapefruit juice, and honey syrup to an ice-filled shaker and shake until well-chilled

  2. Strain into a chilled coupe

  3. Garnish with a grapefruit twist after expressing the oils into the drink
