A Look Back at the World of Stewpendous Trivia in December:
December - The Beautiful End to 2024
The Fun Train steamed ahead the whole month of December, making merry quizzical stops all over Chicagoland and even made a stop in Winter Park, Florida! This month, we were in office break rooms, synagogues, pizza parlors, bars, and living rooms, and we proved that if there is a space for us to set up, we will deliver you a quizzical good time.
In addition to our extra shows, we had some truly epic Holiday-Themed nights at all of our amazing bar partners. We closed out the month with a Chrismukkah Party on Dec. 23rd at Double Clutch that had everything from trivia to a beer chug off. We ended 2024 in the most Stewpendous style on New Years Eve by hosting a customized trivia show for a building of neighbors. We were having such a good time that I ended up DJing until 2 AM. Happy. New. Year.
I say this a lot but I truly mean it, I really am the Luckiest Stew in Stewville because I get to do this for a living. I can't wait to see you all for all of 2025!
FUN FACT OF THE MONTH!
The month of January is symbolized by the two-faced Roman God Janus. Keeping with the concept of past and present, endings and beginnings, Janus looks forward and backward. This is why January is considered a state of reflection of the past year and planning for the year ahead.
Upcoming Stewpendous Chicago Trivia in January!
January is the perfect opportunity to join us and get quizzical with your bestie boos at one of our awesome weekly shows to get out of the cold temps, enjoy something fried and drink a hot beverage.
For those of you super fans of the Empyrean book series (Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, but you knew that, didn't you), we're doing two trivia nights at Headquarters Beercade! One trivia night we will dive into the first two books in the series. The second trivia night will be to celebrate the release of the third book, Onyx Storm! You pretty much have to be there.

Sparkle Squad Spotlights!
We want to give a special shoutout to Kelly D. She stepped up in December to host a holiday game show all the way down in Winter Park, Florida, for an awesome group of Water Engineers. Fresh off the success of her smash hit show at last year’s Orlando Fringe Festival, she will be returning to the stage later this month at the Melbourne Civic Theatre. Playing the role of Kenni Flood, we are so excited for audiences to see her flex those theatrical muscles. If you know someone in Florida, be sure to spread the word!!Â

Throughout history, seven US states obtained their statehood in the month of January. The period between the first and last January statehoods is an incredible 171 years.
Our 47th state, New Mexico, was one of them, achieving statehood in January of 1912. Forty-seven years later, our 49th state was the last state to achieve statehood in January.

A Dry and Cozy January
We know a lot of folks do Dry January after all those holiday parties, so here is a mocktail to make and enjoy with a cozy comedy classic movie. This recipe is an easy one because we know everyone is still resting up (and so are we).
Mock Grapefruit-Pom Paloma (recipe from Food Network)
2 tablespoons grapefruit juice
2 tablespoons pomegranate juice
1 teaspoon honey
3 ounces (6 tablespoons) grapefruit-flavor seltzer
1 teaspoon pomegranate seeds for garnish
