August/September 2024 Newsletter

A Look Back at the World of Stewpendous Trivia in August:

They say time flies when you are having fun! August proved that to be true.

We packed in every morsel of fun we could muster all over Chicago and the burbs!

We soaked in the summer rays and took our trivia outdoors with our summer partnership with Streeterville Social. We laughed our way into living rooms for milestone birthday celebrations.  August also gave us the opportunity to build new relationships with terrific companies such as Grainger and Subaru. We traveled to Space and the Final Frontier with our Trivia Trekkies at Sidetrack and celebrated the epic year of 1984 at Replay. Just google the movies that came out that year! We also popped into the Empyrean series at HQ and ended the month back at Sidetrack with a look at the biggest moments of Brat Summer.

DID YOU KNOW?

Trivia at Dimo's Pizza is every Wednesday at 8 pm. You have the chance to win the "Design Your Own Pizza" prize, awarding you the opportunity to create the pizza of your dreams. Plus you’ll get one of your designed pies for free the following week!

Here are a few of our favorite "Pizzas of the week"

Upcoming Stewpendous Chicago Trivia in September!

September shows no signs of slowing down the Fun Train!

We kicked off the month with a celebration of Queen B on the 4th (her birthday and lucky number).  We also shake things up a bit by moving our XMarket Trivia Nights to Tuesday and now it will be every week!

Book Trivia has been a huge hit! The Maas-ians requested a trivia tournament on Throne of Glass and HQ said, "YES!" If you are a fan of the books, you have to join us for our two-week trivia tournament on the entire Throne of Glass series. Of course, Fall doesn’t officially start till the 22nd, so we're having one last end-of-summer party on September 18th at Replay Andersonville with a special summer-themed show. We will also be ending the month with a visit to Middle Earth with a Lord of the Rings Trivia night at Sidetrack. Have you spent your Sunday with us at Punch Bowl Social for Music Bingo? This is your sign to come down this month!

Sparkle Squad Highlights!

Jackie Smook

Jackie Smook has been with Stewpendous Productions for a long time. We are so lucky to have her as a founding member of the Sparkle Squad. She hosts trivia at Lizzie McNeal's on Tuesdays and Larry’s Bar on Wednesdays. She is so loved by her weekly returning trivia players. When she is not hosting shows for us, she is an incredible stage performer and puppeteer.  We want you to check out her passion project Dilly’s World - a TV show for adults that instills the idea of togetherness and the joy of being weird and silly. We are so excited about this incredible production she has put together (literally she makes all the props and puppets)! You have to check it out!

Matty Keelz and Isabella Andrews

Speaking of Puppets, two of our Sparkle Squad Members are in a production of Avenue Q this month at Raue Center for the Arts, opening Sept. 13th! Matty Keelz first hosted as a last-minute swing over a year ago, saving one of our Double Clutch shows. Since that first show, he has become an essential member of the Sparkle Squad! You can see him hosting his own trivia show at The Fat Shallot and he also can be seen regularly around Chicago, delivering quizzical joy to the masses! His uber-talented partner Isabella has recently joined the Sparkle Squad not only collaborating with Matt on shows, but she has subbed in on trivia shows and has been sensational. Be sure to get your tickets to support the arts and these dynamo performers!

Trivia Time!

We are so excited for the first episode of Agatha All Along this month!! (it premieres September 18)  The character won our wicked hearts with her catchy tune in WandaVision. She made her first Comic Book appearance in 1969.  Who were the heroes of the comic she went up against in her comic debut?

Want to know the answer? Keep Scrolling down!

Nostalgia is a key pillar of our quizzical philosophy! Every month we’ll give you a fun, nostalgic pop-culture recipe that will surely awaken your memories!
