A Look Back at the World of Stewpendous Trivia in April:
TOTALLY NOT FOOLIN'
Despite the holiday, April was not fooling around! The fourth month of 2025 brought us new partnerships, a new host on the sparkle squad, and new suburbs to deliver quizzical joy.
The month started with a real Show Must Go On scenario when the lights went out at the venue 5 minutes before I was about to ask the first question. We pivoted and used the photographer's lighting equipment to light up the venue, and went on to have a great trivia show in soft lighting (which everyone looks better in anyway).
The very next day, we did a trivia show for several hundred parents in a packed gymnasium, who were dressed in the most incredibly well-thought-out themed costumes. April provided another opportunity to remind us that there is no age limit on fun, as I went out to a 55+ community in Aurora to host a trivia show at a packed community center full of the kindest folks. Another highlight of the month was celebrating women in the Painters and Allied Trades International Union.
In April, we launched a new partnership with Offshore Rooftop at Navy Pier! By the end of the month, we ended up bringing our Stewpendous Fun Bus (oh man, now I really want an actual bus) to SIX different Chicago Suburbs! As fun and fabulous as the month was for us, we are ready to spring into May with excitement for what’s ahead.
FUN FACT OF THE MONTH!
May's name comes from the Greek Goddess Maia, the mother of Hermes, symbolizing fertility and Spring

Upcoming Stewpendous Chicago Trivia in May!
May started for us in the best way, we had a brand new show at a brand new venue! We had our show on May 1st at our first Golf Course partnership, the Acorn Grill and Terrace in Northbrook. It was a blast! ....or should we say a hole in one?
May is a big month for Star Wars fans. We're going to celebrate your favorite galaxy of characters with a Star Wars Trivia Night at Replay Andersonville on Wed. May 7th. We are also going to be celebrating another powerful force of fandom by exploring the world of BookTok with two shows at HQ River North. Since so many books have found a community on TikTok, we want to celebrate your favorite books with you, the only way we know how...by quizzing you!
This month at Sidetrack will be re-visiting the early 2000s and going to gearing up for the release of the Switch 2 with a Nintendo Trivia Night.
PSSST...we have super exciting and important news: clear your calendar for May 14th at 7 pm at Replay Andersonville!! We are finalizing the details of a show I’m personally over the moon about and can’t wait to tell you all about it soon.

Sparkle Squad Spotlights!
We want to welcome our newest Sparkle to the Squad - Jenny Hoppes. She is a dynamo actress seen on stages across Chicagoland. She jumped into the deep end of the quizzical waters, subbing for us, and started this month as the Stewpendous Sparkle Host for our newest partnership at Acorn Grill and Terrace in Northbrook. Next Month, you will also see her co-hosting our two big BookTok Trivia Shows at HQ Chicago in River North.
Shout out to Ashley for making the connection, knowing that Jenny was the perfect shine to make Stewpendous Productions even brighter.

Our Stewpendous Recipe!
Stewpendous Productions firmly believes that trivia is always better when snacks are involved. We want to take the opportunity to celebrate our love of Pop Culture with whacky concepts on snacks and cocktails. Nostalgia is a key pillar of our quizzical philosophy! Every month, we’ll give you a fun, nostalgic recipe that will awaken your memories!
There are a lot of movies that are celebrating major milestone anniversaries this year. We're going to highlight some of our favorites in the months ahead. If you have a favorite movie celebrating a milestone anniversary. Let us know, and we will feature it in our next newsletter!
ROCKY ROOOOAAAAAAADDD!
This month, we're shining the spotlight on The Goonies, which is turning 40 this summer.
Everyone has a special memory of watching the Goonies either on the big screen, VHS, or on television. It is the ultimate adventure movie that seems to only get better on the 20th time watching it. Not to mention the cast and the careers this movie launched. I still dream of going down that iconic water slide into the ocean waters below (just without the octopus waiting for me, which was cut from the movie).
Goonies never say die !!

Trivia Answer: It is not Mexican Independence Day, as many believe. The day commemorates the Mexican army's victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. While celebrated more in the U.S. than Mexico, it's a day to honor Mexican culture and heritage. Mexican Independence Day is on September 16.
Peace, Love, & Bear Hugs, Stew
